Analyst Inquiry Faq

Analyst Inquiry provides direct access to our analysts, giving you the opportunity to clarify finer points within published research or discuss topics beyond the scope of existing research. It is often provided as part of an annual service subscription or in conjunction with a consulting agreement and is conducted through 30-minute phone calls or equivalent email dialog.

Analyst Inquiry can be metered or unmetered. Metered Analyst Inquiry provides a set number of hours for seat holders to use during their subscription term. Clients with unmetered or unlimited Analyst Inquiry may schedule sessions as often as required over the course of their subscription, within reason. One-off report buyers are not entitled to Analyst Inquiry.

How do I request Analyst Inquiry?

You can request Analyst Inquiry in one of the three following ways:

What will analysts cover during Analyst Inquiry?

Generally, questions should be about the research itself, industry trends, or other projects you are working on, provided the topics fall within the scope of your subscription.

As a courtesy, we may provide some clarification related to another service, but it will be limited and high-level only since that service is not part of your subscription. We will not address comparisons to our competitors’ data, though we will provide our methodology and explain our own data.

Will I receive any documentation or supporting materials related to my Analyst Inquiry

The intent of Analyst Inquiry is to provide quick responses to your questions or comments. Most often, Analyst Inquiry includes anecdotal information on industry trends from our experts and generally does not include any additional documentation beyond the existing published research. Analysts typically publish only a fraction of what they know about a particular market, so this insider perspective is incredibly valuable.

Unless the information is already known and an analyst can address the request in less than a half-hour, custom data cuts are outside the scope of Analyst Inquiry. Finally, if the inquiry stemmed from our error, we will make the correction but not charge any time.

What if I need more time or want the analyst to go more in-depth?

If your request is expected to last more than a half-hour, we may propose a custom project or a quick custom data cut for an additional fee. Similarly, if the request is not within our syndicated coverage but we do have expertise in the area, we may propose a custom engagement.

Am I eligible to schedule an Analyst Inquiry session?

Analyst Inquiry is only available for active service clients, and questions must come from a person within your organization who has a valid subscription and/or seat. Others from your organization may participate on the call or be included in email correspondence.

If you are part of an enterprise account, anyone from your organization may request Analyst Inquiry.

If your organization has metered Analyst Inquiry, there must be remaining hours available.

How long does it take to schedule Analyst Inquiry?

Your Analyst Inquiry request will be acknowledged on the day we receive it, and we will notify you of the expected turnaround time. In general, however, simple questions are addressed within 1-3 business days. We will typically schedule a conversation within one week at a mutually agreeable time for more complex requests.

How does ABI Research track and measure Analyst Inquiry time?

We track and measure Analyst Inquiry by the number of calls or email dialogs conducted, along with the time spent on each interaction.

To get a report on the amount of Analyst Inquiry used by your organization, contact your account executive or the ABI Research Client Success team.

If you are a client with metered Analyst Inquiry, you will be unable to schedule sessions after utilizing your allotted time.

What is your copyright policy?

If you wish to share or publish data and/or analyst statements in your own marketing or corporate materials, you must seek permission to do so. Requests are generally reviewed within two business days. For more information, view our sourcing guidelines and submit a request.
